Heather Harrison has broad experience in research and management in the pharmaceutical industry. On completion of a PhD and a post-doctoral fellowship in the USA, she worked for several years in the ICI bioscience laboratories. She then moved to the ICI Medical Department where she worked on a major regulatory submission and subsequently became a product information manager. In 1988 she set up the Medical Department for Nordisk UK and had responsibility for the UK clinical trial programme, regulatory affairs, medical information and technical training. Following the merger with Novo, she became manager of the UK Clinical Research Department. Heather then joined SmithKline Beecham where, after working in clinical safety, she became a senior clinical investigation manager in the anti-infectives clinical team.
In 1995, Heather set up a pharmaceutical consultancy, Langton Biomedical Limited, which provided medical writing and clinical research services to the pharmaceutical industry, contract research organisations and professional bodies. Heather has also lectured on MSc/Diploma courses run by the Institute of Clinical Research and the British Institute of Regulatory Affairs.
In 2001, Heather began working with Bob Gammon Associates. Having spent her entire working life in the pharmaceutical sector, and following three and a half very successful and enjoyable years in recruitment, Heather joined her husband in his property business at the beginning of 2005. |
